Sudan Slams Kenya for Hosting RSF Leaders, Calls It ‘Act of Hostility’
Sudan has strongly condemned Kenya for hosting political negotiations involving the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a sanctioned paramilitary group engaged in Sudan’s ongoing conflict.
The Sudanese government has accused Kenya of undermining its sovereignty and endorsing terrorism, vowing to take all necessary measures to counter the move.
The condemnation follows a meeting held on February 18, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, where RSF leaders and Sudanese opposition groups discussed forming a parallel government.
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which currently controls the official government, views the RSF as a rebel faction responsible for destabilizing Sudan.
Kenya’s involvement in facilitating these talks has angered the Sudanese administration, which sees it as direct interference in its internal affairs.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an official statement warning that such actions could strain diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In the letter, Sudan further accuses Kenya of endorsing and being complicit in the war crimes committed by the RSF militia.
The statement highlights ongoing atrocities allegedly perpetrated by the RSF, including genocide, ethnic-based massacres, attacks on internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, and acts of rape.
The letter also criticizes Kenya for violating the principles of good neighbourliness and breaking prior pledges not to allow hostile activities against Sudan from within its borders.
